operates as a function of the TESSADA CLASIC contract at NASA Langley Research Center. This operation is managed by Hampton Roads Technology Services, LLC. Acting as the prime integrator in partnership with local and national vendors, HRTS LLC combines onsite convenience with a best value pricing approach for its government and civilian customers.

What is the LaRc Mart?

 In an effort to create the most value for our customers, TESSADA designed a self-service store initiative to enhance business practices at the NASA Langley Research Center. This store enables our customers to enjoy the benefit of an MRO storefront right at the center that allows them to eliminate travel time for product purchasing, have access to a wealth of quality products, and helps them preserve their own resources. The store offers a wide variety of office, industrial, and maintenance supplies at competitive prices and also includes several value added services such as free desktop or shop delivery, work order kitting, and dedicated on hand inventory for a growing number of organizations. However, the most significant factor is having the store on center at NASA Langley.

What Does the Store Provide?

 The Self Service Store is a partnership effort that brings together some of the strongest commercial supply chains available today. HRTS, LLC has partnered with strong and reputable companies in every field to provide outstanding customer service while delivering quality products at a competitive price. For example, Graybar Electric Company is our lead vendor for electrical and communication supplies, Ferguson Enterprises is the lead plumbing and valves vendor, and Empire Machinery is the mechanical guru in this effort. However the list does not stop here. We have established agreements with specialty companies throughout the region in every possible discipline under maintenance and facilities. Furthermore, everything from chalk to overhead projectors and recycled paper to cardboard boxes are offered through our office supplies. In short, this initiative provides our customers with a one-stop shop for products they require to meet their everyday business needs. Finally, this unique vision of an MRO self service store conceptually contributes to the federal government's and NASA's mission to consistently provide value added initiatives that further reduce the government's cost of doing business. Hampton Roads Technology Services, LLC has embraced this mission through hard work, strategic planning, listening to the needs of center staff, and by communicating with key center personnel to better understand their challenges. Over the last year, Store sales have significantly increased and the acquisition of the GSA schedule further positions the company for onsite continued growth.
